Hyderabadis unite to help Chennai flood victims


With the continuous rains for the last many days, major Indian metro city Chennai is facing the worst flooding in more than a century. Hundreds of people have died, thousands are homeless, and many more are left stranded as a result of caved-in roads and major transportation closures.

Flood victims urgently need various things like food, nighties, lungies, towels, napkins, diapers bed-sheets, blankets, medicines, breads, biscuits dog food water bottles, basic medicines, first aid kits etc. Various organizations and individuals from across India are supporting the flood relief work in various forms. Hyderabad based logistics company Whoosh is working on a war footing to deploy the flood relief materials and coordinate the relief work by various organizations and individuals. They have deployed two boats and ten mini trucks in coordination with other partners. They have distributed 20,000 food packets and 25,000 more food packets are on the way.
